Hindi dapat madaliin ang planong pagbuwag sa Bureau of Customs (BOC) at palitan ito ng isang professional institution na pangangasiwaan ng mga pribadong opisyal at kawani, dahil magiging “unconstitutional“ ito, ayon kay Valenzuela City Rep. Magtanggol Gunigundo.
Kontra si Gunigundo, abogado at House Deputy Majority Leader, sa panukalang buwagin ang BOC upang masawata ang korupsiyon at smuggling sa ahensiya.
“That’s a very dangerous proposition. Tax collection is a power that only the government can exercise.
