Malacañang on Tuesday washed its hands on the fate of some 180 men still holed up in Lahad Datu in Sabah, saying it has done all it can to prevent bloodshed following several weeks of standoff there. “The fate of the 180 people in Lahad Datu lies with those who continue to make a defiant stand,” presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said at a briefing.
