Bigat ng truck, trailer, nilimitahan para protektahan ang kalsada — DPWH

Kailangang tumalima ang mga trucker at iba pang nagmamaneho ng mabibigat na sasakyan sa ipatutupad na bagong gross vehicle weight simula sa Hunyo 1, kaugnay ng kampanya ng gobyerno laban sa overloading.

Ginawa ang hakbang matapos na magkasundo ang mga kinauukulang ahensiya ng gobyerno sa maximum gross vehicle weight na pahihintulutan ng batas upang mapangalagaan ang mga kalsada at highway sa bansa.



Nagkasundo ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at Department of Transportation and Communication (DoTC) na baguhin ang mga probisyon sa implementing rules and regulations ng RA 8794 o “An Act Imposing a Motor Vehicle User’s Charge (MVUC) on Owners of all Types of Motor Vehicle and for Other Purposes.”

“In some heavily traveled national road sections, we have already increased the thickness of the concrete pavement from 230 mm to 280 mm to withstand the allowable load of hauling trucks and trailers,” sabi ni DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson.

Sa inamyendahang resolusyon, itinakda ang sumusunod na pinahihintulutang gross vehicle weight ayon sa description: 1) para sa truck na may dalawang axle (six-wheeler), 18,000 kilo; 2) sa truck na may tandem rear axle hanggang tatlong axle (10-wheeler), 33,300 kilo; 3) sa truck na may tridem rear axle, four axles (14-wheeler), 35,600 kilo; 4) truck-trailer na may dalawang axle sa motor vehicle at one axle sa trailer (10-wheeler), 34,000 kilo.

Para sa truck-trailer na may dalawang axle sa motor vehicle at dalawang axle sa trailer (14-wheeler), 40,600 kilo; 6) truck-trailer na may dalawang axle sa motor vehicle at tatlong axle sa trailer (18-wheeler), 41,000 kilo; 7) truck-semi-trailer na may tatlong axle sa motor vehicle at isang axle sa trailer (14-wheeler), 39,700 kilo.

Maaari namang magpalabas ng Special Permit to Travel ang DPWH at posible ring obligahin dito sa mga sasakyang kargado ng inseparable/o espesyal na cargo na lampas sa gross vehicle weight.

Bilyun-bilyong piso ang ginagastos ng DPWH taun-taon para sa pagkukumpuni ng mga kalsada sa bansa.
