Iginiit ni dating Senator Ramon Magsaysay Jr., senatorial bet ng Team PNoy, na gamitin ang mga diesel-powered generating plant para matugunan ang problema sa kapos na supply ng kuryente sa Mindanao.
Ang paggamit ng dieselpowered generating plant ay mungkahi rin ng Department of Energy (DoE).
“This is a stop-gap measure worth looking into in the face of rotating brownouts plaguing the region. Of course we have to bear with it and pay a higher rate until 2015 when the coal-fired plants kick in,” sabi ni Magsaysay.
Aniya, maikakabit ito sa loob ng anim na buwan at agad naman na magagamit.
Una nang sinabi ni Pangulong Benigno S. Aquino III na ito ang puwedeng gamitin upang maresolba
ang problema sa kakulangan ng kuryente pagsapit ng 2015.
Sa ngayon, nakakaranas ng malawakang brownout ang Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte at Iligan City.
“It’s about time that we address this situation to avoid insinuations that the administration is deliberately using the crisis to gain advantage in the coming midterm polls,” sabi pa ni Magsaysay. – Leonel Abasola
