Sa kabila ng naganap na trahedya sa field trip ng Marinduque State College sa Tuba, Benguet, na ikinasawi ng pito katao, inihayag ng Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) na walang sapat na dahilan para ipagbawal ang pagsagawa ng field trip.
“I do not think field trips should be banned entirely. They have to be taken seriously as educational instruments, carefully planned and systematically monitored by schools,” pahayag ni CHEd chairman, Patricia Licuanan.
Ganito rin ang paninindigan ng Department of Education (DepEd) nang masawi ang isang 14-anyos
na estudyante ng Holy Spirit Academy.
“Iba kasi ang natututunan ng mga bata sa mga field trips,” paliwanag ni DepEd Undersecretary Tonisito Umali.
Nagkaisa sina Dr. Licuanan at Usec. Umali na kailangan lamang na tiyakin ang seguridad at kaligtasan sa pagsasagawa ng field trip.
